October 4, 2007 - Thursday is the day! This will be the grand opening of the new dog park at 10:30 and on Saturday and Sunday all dogs can come visit the park by using the gate code "1234"   After this the park will require a 2007 permit - $15.00 for the first dog, $10.00 for the second dog, and $5.00 per additional dog in the same household.

September 8, 2007 - Woodland Aquatic Center

"It’s the dog days of summer and canines of all shapes and sizes are invited to take a dip in the Woodland Aquatic Center at the 6th Annual Dog Paddle. Sponsored by the Friends of the Dog Park, Inc. and the Division of Parks and Recreation, this event will give your dog the opportunity to take the last swim of the season.

The cost is $10 per dog with a limit of two people per dog. After that limit, it is $5 per person with these proceeds going to a local rescue. All dogs must have a 2006 or 2007 rabies tag or proof of vaccination. All dogs must also have a “Fayette City License” or you will be fined" - City webpage for the event

Even our canine friends need a chance to show off their swimming skills. On September 7th, from 2:00pm – 6:00pm, and September 8th and 9th, from 1:00 pm-5:00 pm E.P. "Tom" Sawyer is letting its olympic size pool go to the dogs. This is a great opportunity to get your dog out of the house and take them for a swim. Your dog will think that they never had it so good.
