Bear Creek Dog Park Reviews

Article on aggression

Here is an article on all the things that can be done when encountering aggressive dogs.

Aggressive dogs

A large breed dog with it's leash attached to its collar but not being attended by its owner. I was a bit concerned because I noticed that the large dog had not been neutered. A fight broke out with our dog having to defend himself. After that we kept away from any dog wearing a leash. There were 2 more occasions when we had severe concerns about aggression, both times when we were passing male dogs that had not been neutered and on both occasions they were doberman pinschers. The owner called his dogs and they returned to him.

My husband both felt that the negative experience this morning outweighed the fun our dog had with all the other dogs around the pool. We have witnessed similar dog fights previously and have heard visitors demand that the offending dog be taken out of the park.

Why have park rules?

I have been going to Bear Creek Dog Park for 6 years and will not go back again. The patrons of the park have discovered there is no regulation of the park rules. Lately everytime I have gone to the park someone with a large dog or dogs rationalize that they are special and are above the rules of the small dog area. When asked politely to follow the rules they adamently refuse. I am saddened by this, it used to be a great place.
