Grand Opening

On June 7th the Watson Upper Valley Dog Park became a reality. A visitor said, "The park is absolutely beautiful but when the dogs came into the park today, it came alive!"

Our opening day was full of excitement and enthusiasm as 35 dogs and their owners, well-wishers from the Upper Valley and Town supporters gathered together for a celebration. After 5 years of searching for a venue, fund raising and building the park, we, the Upper Valley Dog Park Supporters acknowledged the Town of Hartford, VT Board of Selectmen, Hunter Rieseberg, Town Manager, and Tad Nunez, Director of Parks & Recreation Dept. for their support and encouragement with the project. Hunter Rieseberg then thanked us for our hard work, dedication and how pleased he was with the Dog Park. By the end of the day we had over 60 dogs or better.

It has been a busy place ever since. Our volunteers have been monitoring at various times to keep the park set up with supplies and helping the dog owners with questions. Jenn Barg, our Canine Behavior Adviser/Trainer, has been coming once a month on Saturday 9-11am to assist anyone with a question or issue with their dog(s).

If you are traveling in our area.....Come see us and watch your dog(s) smile. Yes they do smile! Website: www.watsondogpark.org
